A little about the story

When the tool works shuts down, Jack Willington is out of a job and his sister Deb is worried about keeping their home. Jack is a born tinkerer with a model invention he believes in, and he will need every ounce of pluck to get it noticed.

Trouble comes thick and fast: a fire, a false accusation, a fall into the river and a scheming neighbour. Behind it all lies the mystery of the Willington legacy. It is a classic up-by-your-bootstraps story from the man behind the Rover Boys and the Hardy Boys.
