A little about the story
On a dark night on the Bengal plain, wolves come close to Mr Desborough's indigo factory, and a small child disappears. The family's grief turns into a search that leads into the hills, among the jungle creatures and the sons of a local rana.
Young Oliver, newly arrived from England, has his own part to play in the search. Eleanor Stredder combines natural history, a tale of a lost child raised in the wild and a story about family and growing up in British India.
