A little about the story

Three boys set off by canoe down the wild rivers of the Saskatchewan country, far into the Canadian Northwest. There are rapids, whirlpools, storms rolling down from the North and all the work of camping in the wilderness.

They cook their meals on spits, meet trappers and traders, and run into danger more than once. St. George Rathborne knew outdoor life well, and the book is full of practical canoeing and camping lore.
