A little about the story

It is the time of Napoleon, and England is braced for invasion. Young Jack Hardy rides the coach to Luscombe on the south coast to visit a cousin, and finds the village in the grip of smugglers led by the sly Mr. Nathaniel Gudgeon.

Jack takes the king's side against them, and the story moves from moonlit landings and secret caves to the French coast, where Jack catches sight of Bonaparte himself reviewing his army. A rousing smuggling adventure from Herbert Strang.
