A little about the story
It is 1488, and a young squire on the Isle of Wight dreams of knighthood. When Sir Edward Woodville, Captain of the Wight and Lord of Carisbrooke Castle, gathers men to fight in Brittany, the boy is swept into a world of tournaments, falconry, castle life and war.
Frank Cowper knew the island intimately, and he fills this historical romance with the colour and detail of late medieval life.
