A little about the story
In France in the 1560s, the uneasy peace between Catholics and Huguenots is breaking down. A young Huguenot rides out at night fearing for his father, and is soon swept up in the wars as a follower of the great Protestant leader Admiral Gaspard de Coligny.
There are cavalry charges, sieges and narrow escapes, leading towards the massacre of St Bartholomew's Day. W. J. Marx tells a stirring tale of loyalty and faith in one of the most turbulent times in French history.
