A little about the story
Horace Beveridge's father is a scholar in a quiet English fishing village who loves ancient Greece. When the Greeks rise against Ottoman rule in 1821, father and son fit out a ship and sail to help.
They fight pirates, rescue prisoners and are captured by Albanian brigands in a war fought with great cruelty on both sides. G. A. Henty, a former war correspondent, packs in sea fights, sieges and narrow escapes, along with plenty of history.
