A little about the story
Ralph Fairbanks has worked his way up to engineer, and now he is at the throttle of No. 999 on the Overland Express. The whole of Stanley Junction turns out to see him go, but there are dangers ahead: special passengers, warnings, an avalanche in the mountains and rivals who would like to see him fail.
It is a fast-moving railroad adventure from Allen Chapman's popular series, with plenty of real engine-cab detail.
