A little about the story
Ruth Fielding is picking barberries by the Lumano River with her friends Helen and Tom Cameron when they spot a film company shooting a scene. Before long Ruth has written a moving picture scenario herself.
She hopes the film will raise money for a new dormitory at Briarwood Hall, her school. It is an early and fascinating look at the silent-film business, through the eyes of a smart and capable heroine.
