A little about the story
Jean Froissart's Chronicles tell of the Hundred Years' War between England and France: knights and battles, sieges and ransoms, Crécy and Poitiers, the Black Prince and the kings of France and England.
The American poet Sidney Lanier selected and edited the most exciting passages for young readers, so that boys could read the great age of chivalry in the words of a writer who lived through it.
