A little about the story
Zan Baker and her friend Nita Brampton live in New York brownstones, but this summer they and their friends are heading to the countryside to camp with the Woodcraft movement. They learn to make fire with rubbing sticks, to watch the birds and to live simply outdoors.
Lillian Elizabeth Roy based the book on Ernest Thompson Seton's Woodcraft ideas, and it is full of nature lore and camp-fire friendship.
