A little about the story

In the Spanish-American War of 1898, a brave young American sailor called Young Glory and his friend Dan Daly face Spanish officers, prison and battle at sea. The climax is a fight between an American gunboat and a Spanish cruiser.

This is a genuine dime novel from the summer of 1898, written to cash in on the war fever of the moment. It is short, melodramatic and a fascinating piece of popular history.
