A little about the book
Volume two of Sir Edward Parrott's history of the First World War for children covers the autumn of 1914, from the Battle of Mons to the fall of Antwerp. It describes the French army, the retreat and the battle of the Marne, the crossing of the Aisne and the war at sea.
Written as events unfolded, it shows how the war was explained to British children at the time.
