A little about the story

Stories about the boys of a small Kansas town: their games, feuds, first crushes, circuses and the rules of their secret kingdom, Boyville. Mealy Jones suffers martyrdom, the tick-tack is invented and the grown-ups barely understand any of it.

William Allen White, the famous Kansas newspaper editor, remembered his own boyhood with humour and affection.
