A little about the story

The old nursery tale retold in rollicking English hexameters, the long, galloping lines of Homer. Lazy Jack, his despairing mother, the magic beans, the giant and the golden harp are all here, in comic verse.

Hallam Tennyson, the poet's son, wrote it for his young nephews, and it is illustrated by Randolph Caldecott, one of the greatest of all picture-book artists. Short, funny and lovely to read aloud.
