A little about the book
Volume three of Edward Parrott's history of the First World War for children covers the end of 1914, after the British army moved north from the Aisne to Flanders. It tells of the first battle of Ypres, the war at sea and in the air, and soldiers from across the British Empire.
It includes stories of individual bravery, like that of Khudadad Khan, the first Indian soldier to win the Victoria Cross. Written at the time, it shows how the war was explained to children as it unfolded.
