A little about the story
Mona would always rather read a story than do her chores, and the kettle is singing loudly before she even notices. When she has to grow up quickly, her dreaminess and lack of courage cause hurt to people she loves.
Mabel Quiller-Couch writes a quiet, thoughtful story about how a girl is made into a better person, through her mistakes as much as her kindness.
