A little about the story
A very charming gentleman, as old as old could be, introduces this collection of verses and stories for Australian children. There are swagmen with corks dancing round their hats, cheeky animals, bush adventures and plenty of nonsense, all with a strong Australian flavour.
C. J. Dennis, famous for The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke, wrote and illustrated it himself. It was reissued in 1935 as Roundabout.
