A little about the story

Every girl at Higbee School can make a pretty monogram except Nancy Nelson, whose initials stand, the others tease, for Nobody from Nowhere. Nancy has no family that she knows of, and when she moves on to Pinewood Hall she has to face snobbish classmates, a stern headmistress and the question of who she really is.

There are scrapes, midnight feasts, rivalries and a daring rescue from a millrace, and underneath runs the mystery of Nancy's past. A warm, lively boarding-school story with a heroine who refuses to be anyone's nobody.
