A little about the story
A bundle of simple, homely stories for very young children, told by Aunt Fanny in the cosy style of the 1840s. Cousins gather at Grandma's for Christmas dinner under the gaslight, a little boy is frightened of the water, and small children learn small lessons about kindness, honesty and courage.
The stories are short enough to read aloud at bedtime, and they give a vivid picture of how middle-class American children lived and played more than 170 years ago.
