A little about the story
Esther St. Aiden is a sensible girl who runs the household for her invalid mother. When she is put in charge of a lively group of boys for the holidays, she discovers that keeping them out of mischief takes more than good management.
There are country outings, pony-cart drives, animals and a few genuine dangers, and Esther and the boys learn a good deal about one another. Evelyn Everett-Green wrote dozens of stories for girls, and this is one of her warmest.
