A little about the story
Grace and Horace Clifford live on the banks of the Ohio in Indiana. Horace is a high-spirited boy who longs to be a soldier, and with the Civil War raging, he gets more mischief and adventure than he bargained for, from setting off gunpowder to heading towards the army.
Sophie May's Little Prudy books were among the most loved American children's books of the 19th century, and this one gives Prudy's cousin Horace his own story.
