A little about the story
Come, children all, both great and small: a picture-book tour of London in verse. Readers visit the Tower, the Zoo, Gog and Magog, Cleopatra's Needle and the Foundling Hospital, and meet the cat's-meat man, the chestnut woman, the crossing sweeper and Punch and Judy.
The lively rhymes and bright colour pictures capture the sights and street life of Victorian London. It is a delightful snapshot of the city as children saw it.
