A little about the story
Three nursery favourites in one picture book: Old Mother Hubbard and her famously bare cupboard, The Three Bears told in verse, and an Absurd A.B.C. Walter Crane, one of the great Victorian picture-book artists, fills every page with bold colour and witty detail.
His playful preface sets the tone, with puns on his own name and on the bears. It is a lovely book to share with small children, and a treat for anyone who loves classic illustration.
