A little about the story
Rebecca Rowena Randall of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is back, helping to prepare for a flag-raising in her village at a time of national anxiety and strong feeling. The village girls are to represent the states, and there is much discussion about who will be the State of Maine.
Kate Douglas Wiggin's short, warm story shows small-town patriotism and Rebecca's lively imagination.
