A little about the story
Speug, Bulldog, Nestie and their friends are schoolboys in a Scottish town, wild young barbarians who fight, play pranks and stand up for each other. Their masters, their families and the townsfolk are drawn with humour and affection.
Ian Maclaren, a Scottish minister and bestselling author, based it on his own schooldays.
